Cassie Tyre, interned for Christ's Church during the summer of 2013. She married Richard Pack while working at a Christian Church in Kissimmee, FL. She started Bloom as a community group for young women on Sundays at their local coffee shop. After one of their meetings, on her way for ice cream with friends, was hit by a drunk driver. The impact to her brain took her life in an instant. Her family and friends were shocked and devastated. To carry on her legacy and vision to help young women, Bloom in Jax started in 2018 with a group of young girls in my home on Sunday evenings.
I meet women of all ages, like Cassie, who serve God in a variety of ways to glorify God. Learning to Bloom was written with you in mind to help inspire and equip you to find your purpose and fulfill your mission for God. This book will inspire and equip you to become who God created you to be.
There is a character in the Bible who takes us on a journey as she discovers the heart of Jesus. She starts out as an immature maiden and blossoms into a mature bride. Learning about her through this guided study of chapter one of Song of Solomon has led Debra Burns over the past 20 years to write this book series for such a time as this.
God wants you to know that His love is limitless. Believing this will help bring you to a new level of spiritual maturity. It will awaken a stronger devotion to God and a renewed passion for Jesus. For all those who are hungry for more, Debra Burns brings a unique and timely message for this generation.
Learning to Bloom is a collaboration from a variety of real, brave and sold out young women who are on the front lines ministering across the globe sharing their progression of spiritual development to maturity as it relates to the Bible.
The general purpose of this book is to fully capture your heart by revealing the unconditional love God has for immature, weak believers. This journey will lead you to partner with Jesus in order to live out your purpose and equip you to become who God created you to be.
"I really think you have a gift, and I really feel you are called to speak to a generation of emboldened women with unprecedented freedoms and help guide us to the One who provides, protects, and shapes that boldness to bear fruit for His Kingdom.”
"It’s authentic and real. It helps you get into the real nitty gritty so you can have those deep, important conversations. There’s a lot of pressure we put on ourselves. This book was really eye opening. There is so much more freedom than we realize."
"I found the Bloom book to be so relevant and your writing style is so exciting in how it presents God’s love. I love that you’re so consistent and it’s your lifestyle. And I've never had the opportunity to be around someone like that. So inspiring and something I would like to do and achieve."
“Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the book study and how much I learned about myself through the book. I love how transparent and open you were. Over the 8 weeks I would consider you a dear friend & love and care for you. I hope to meet you one day in the near future. I know the book will bless so many. I wish you the best of luck with love and blessings on the publishing of your book. Again thank you for allowing me to take part.”
“Debra shares a glimpse into her intimate journey becoming who she was made to be in Jesus. She captures the process of a growing love relationship with Jesus through the Song of Songs. As Debra weaves other young women’s testimonies throughout her book, she honestly addresses issues, fears, and desires every young woman faces. Through reading Debra’s book, you will discover your own purpose and passion. You will be encouraged, motivated, and transformed by a true mentor of young women!”
"I was looking for something or someone to help feed my craving for more of the Lord; not just scripture reading or listening to sermons but something that would touch my inner spirit. God brought you back into my life with an opportunity to be told a story that I hadn’t heard….The Song of Solomon. You take the book of Songs and connect it to our world and our lives. Learning to be intimate with Christ through scripture, your journal entries and other women’s testimonies allows the process to be very relatable to every age and every level of spiritual maturity. Thank you for reigniting my love for Christ in this intimate way. I loved our format of studying with other women and hearing what others had to say. I look forward to seeing and reading your completed book.”
"Beautiful revelation and insight the intimate love God has for all of his daughters. It’s relatable, relevant and modern. It addressed the issues 20 somethings are facing in 2020. The Word of God in the book separated all these lies that I was believing. So enlightening to hear a new perspective on these big issues. Doing it with others is so helpful. You get more out of it and you become closer to each other. You have people who are going to help you maintain the truths that you all just learned. You created a safe place to tackle some taboo topics that you don’t get to talk about in church. I was never asked to share more than I wanted to. It was a gradual progression to open your heart and your mind to God’s word on a deeper level."
Learning to follow God fully is a journey. The principles in Songs can guide us into a fulfilling love life with Jesus and others. We are focusing on the first chapter of Songs and will show you how this message resonates throughout the whole Bible.
An ongoing relationship with consistent growth is a progressive journey. It’s not the goal that is important. It’s about becoming the person who can achieve the goal.
She grasps the revelation that Jesus has deep affection for weak yet sincere believers. The knowledge of Jesus’ love ignites her heart to want to know God even more. Her self-fulfillment is achieved by her self-abandonment, just as his fulfilment is found by his captivation by her beauty.
Partnering with Jesus in ministry looks different for everyone. He has put the desire in my heart to help women of all ages overcome the limitations of the world to fulfill your purpose and equip you to become all that God has called you to be. There are a variety of ways we partner with Him.
We must receive the truth that He declares His love and affection for us with the full knowledge of our sin. This does not give us license to sin even more. No way. If anything, it makes us long for intimacy with God again and the Spirit gives us the desire to get victory over our sin.
Shame can hold us in bondage. God promises to set captives free and to restore the years the locusts have eaten. He promises in Isaiah that “in place of your shame, you will receive a double portion” (61:7).
There are five distractions that have progressively impacted her relationship, her focus, and dedication to the Lord. Other believers have rejected her, she is working too hard in the family vineyard, she’s distracted from her first love, she feels shame from sin, and she is serving Jesus at a distance.
When we speak out and reveal our authentic selves, we are one step closer to healing. We live free of shame and hold our heads higher because of the work God has done in our hearts.
He encourages her to take care of her God given responsibilities. He gives her permission to limit herself to only take care of the ones that Jesus entrusted to her. We don’t have to accept responsibility for every need that comes our way. Boundaries are okay but fulfill every good work God calls you to do.
The training Jesus gave us in the early days is still valid and important in our character. Everything is not lost because we have stumbled in our weakness.
Jesus delights in watching your passion and love growing for Him. God is saying, “your emotions are lovely, I have skillfully worked in you a “Yes!” for My Son.’ That yes pleases the very heart of God.
When we take time to meditate on the Word of God and let the power of the cross permeate our minds, we cry out in spontaneous adoration too. Whether we respond with prayer, singing, crying, or just sitting in His presence, when we reflect on the cross and what it cost Jesus to save us, our adoration is a sweet aroma to God.
When we connect with the fact that Jesus truly enjoys us, then we can fully enjoy Him too. When this happens, it is much easier to give up the things that were distractions for us. No longer do we count them as great sacrifices to release, but rather we feel more joy as we yield ourselves more fully to Him and surrender once again by making Him our true love and priority.
